John A. Masson, MD, FCCP

Dr. Masson moved to Clearwater from New Orleans to join Bay Area Chest Physicians in June of 2002. He trained in Pulmonary/Critical Care at Louisiana State University Health Science Center at New Orleans. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine. He was Chairman of the Department of Medicine from 2010-2012. President of the Medical Staff elect from 2018 – 2020 and served as President of the Medical Staff from 2020 – 2022. During the initial phases of the COVID pandemic and in that capacity served on the Morton Plant Mease Board of Directors. He was the recipient of the Mitchell Weiss, Distinguished Physician Leadership Award in 2021. He continues to serve in various leadership capacities within Baycare Healthcare and is currently Chairman of the Medical Staff Quality Committee. He lives in Safety Harbor with his wife Jennifer and their sons Matthew and Dominic.
